G Moody - 1888

The late Mr. G. Moody accidental death at Woodside, one of the originators of the Bible Christian cause in the Island. He had recorded an octogenarian age and for 60 years of his life had been a local preacher, class leader and active worker in Bible Christian movement. He had been a total abstainer for 40 years.

At his funeral at Arreton churchyard, which was conducted by the vicar Rev. C. S. Beachcroft, the chief mourners were his 4 surviving brothers, 3 sons and 3 daughters. He was borne to the grave by 4 of his grandsons, James & Andrew Alford, George & James Moody. Six granddaughters were also present.
